{TS.A.H.M.} 13 Years | June 2016

Every year, I have less and less to say. Some would say it's a good thing and that it's part of the healing process, but I feel like I should be able to say more. Every year on this day, I go have time to myself to grieve in my own way without any interruptions.

It's been 13 years and every year still feels the same as the first. I always wonder what you would look like, what kind of personality you would have, what colour eyes you would have or what you would grow up and become. I didn't even get to hear his little cries or giggles.
If you would've been anything like your little sisters, you would've been such a great older brother and role model.

Yes, in 13 years it has gotten easier to breathe through this. However, I still feel like a piece of me is missing and I don't ever think that feeling will fade away.

I hold a special place in my heart for you. I'm thankful for you teaching me what really matters in life, for showing me who would be there when I was down...like rock bottom down. Your hour of life made me feel things that I can't even express in words.

Thank you for making me who I am today.

{TS.A.H.M} End of the Year | June 2016

Another year has passed. I can't even begin to tell you how proud I am of this girl. She started off as the underdog, who literally had no one but family. She felt out of place a LOT for the first couple months of school, but by December she was telling us about how many friends she had made and how she was doing all kinds of things. I also give a lot of praise to her teacher who helped her feel at home and worked to make her feel as comfortable as she could.

E has had lots of rough patches this year, but it's all part of growing up. Overall, though, she's come such a long way and like we knew she would. She's moving on to grade 3 guys!! What even? :'(

{TS.A.H.M} Our New Home | June 2016

I know it's been awhile since I've written here, but I've been maintaining my business blog and in the last couple months we've been busy!

We finally found a home of our own!

We officially got it in July, so we've been spending some time buying furniture, painting, setting up...that fun stuff! E has a new bus route, but we managed to find something still in the boundaries of the school. We were determined to keep her in the same school with all her friends and teachers she's grown to know. S is supposed to start Kinderstart in September, but we're having her start the year after for actual kindergarten. So, she'll be staying in daycare the same days and we may just add another day. She will get more out of daycare than the way that they do Kinderstart here.

The girls picked and agreed on their bedroom + playroom colours together. They chose a really nice blueish/green for their bedroom and a watermelon pink for their playroom. We gave them both the option of either having their own rooms; without bunk beds OR they could share a room, have bunk beds AND have a playroom. Of course, they chose to share a room if it got them bunk beds and a playroom out of it! They helped paint them and got their own rollers. :)

We're pretty much all settled in now, There are still a few things we need to buy, but nothing that is dire at the moment (except maybe my desk :p). We downsized a lot before be got here, but we managed to find a place that we didn't need to upsize much either. We needed a kitchen table, mattresses, bunk beds, a desk, dressers, nothing too crazy but just enough.

The girls are happy. P and I are still trying to organize our bedroom and get a few things for their playroom, but we have a bedroom to sleep in and a bed setup, so no more sleeping on the living room floor! :p We just need to get dressers for our room now and hang some pictures so it doesn't look so empty.

I'm up to my nose in clean, laundry because we're living out of laundry baskets until we find some half decent dressers. We found a nice big one for the girls, so at least they have their room all organized. We can wait a little longer.

Other than that, mother nature has finally graced us with nice weather! As I've mentioned before, here, we're about a month behind. We've been able to be in shorts a few days here and there, but this week it seems like we can wear shorts ALL week long. From Wednesday, it's supposed to rain the rest of the week, but at least we have the beginning of the week to enjoy. Plus, Father's Day was 22*C. The girls are starting to be outside all day long now. E has 3 days left of school until summer break, so I'm just going to enjoy this last week getting things that need to get done, done so that I won't have to worry about them so much when the girls are home together more often. S will still be in daycare for two days/week during the summer, so I will get some peace and quiet through the week still.

We're all happy and we're enjoying our new home and meeting lots of new and amazing people! Let the adventures continue! :)
